Slit-lamp biomicroscope, aka "a microscope and a bright light". A very fancy bright light that can be adjusted to give a thin beam which allows us to examine a thin slice through the cornea or a wider beam to examine other structures. Also used in conjunction with a high power lens to examine inside the eye. A camera on the slit-lamp allows me to capture videos and photos to keep as a record and to show to patients.
